2007 Patrol Crd or Di
Hi guys, im looking to upgrade the old GQ to a newer GU patrol and im wanting to get a common rail 3.0 litre.
My question is tho, are all the 2007 GU's CRD or are there some that are still the direct injection as i know they changed around that time.
Looking at photos of some for sale they dont have the common rail stickers on the doors but i dont know if they came out with those in 2007.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

I believe all 2007 are CRD, as they stopped selling the Di and 4.2 early to mid 2006.

Early 2007 would be a Di and the rest should be CRD
Black engine cover - CRD
Silver cover - Di
Growler should know as he's just gone through this exercise

Crd has the black engine cover and the intercooler sits on two black steel rods that are attached to the firewall and front cross member. Di intercooler is attached to engine. Crd fuel filter is single unit with rubber squeeze type primer pump similar to outboard motors. Di has a filter mount with push pump on top and a screw in filter at the bottom. The crd intercooler output hose comes out of the drivers side front while for Di its passengers side front.

Spoke to my workmate who has a DX Ute CRD built Jan 2007. However, that doesn't mean they were sold in Aus then, as he bought this in April.
Anyways, here is the 2 different engine bays, easy way to tell the 2 apart. (providing the engine bay is factory)

What Hodge said. Don't go by stickers, mine has 3l Di stickers and it is, but I put the stickers on. Could have put anything I wanted on.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder

why does it need to be a 2007 if you can I would go a 2008 as the early crds have a few little issues 1 being that the oil pump has been known to fall off its bracket in the sump now when that happens the result is 100% failure
