Now that is a point, Pardon the pun. I would suspect it would be held flat against the bar by the rope pressure, would it not? It also eliminates the need for exposing the rope or cable to damage and UV rays.

all Ive done is fit some 19mm convoluted split tubing to cover the exposed
dyneema rope, also stops it getting sand blasted as well
