    Viscos Fan

Hi guys, seen a video the other day on how to check the viscos fan is working correctly. When I went to run the test on my GQ turn out its not cause one of the previous owners have jammed the fan through drilling it and putting screws through it, so now it does not spin on the shaft at all. So whatever the speed the shaft is turning at, the fan is turning at to. I really do not see why they just didn't replace the viscos if there was an issue with it, or is there a good reason why this person has done this?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Robo: Yeah just ordered a new one $400

Mud: I thought it would be pretty bad on diesel when I brought it. I'm currently getting around the 17lt per 100km as just highway. It's got 33 inch tyres and I weighed it the other week and it's 2.8 tonne.(GQ LWB 42td)

Rossco: Your not wrong there mate, it is bloody noisy.

The plastic fan is in good order, I dont know about the the replacing of the oil mate. I don't reckon there is oil in it to be honest. Looks like he might of replaced it for some 401. I'll post photos up here next week when I get home on his efforts. Have we got a tool of the week award on here? He has drilled holes through the fan and put text screws in it to, must admit he has done a good job for managing to get it to lock it up.

Ok I was just thinking of replacing the oil.
some research has come up with 3 types of the yota oil !.
    3000 ct, 6000 ctn, 10000 ct.
    which one is correct??????

question, how much oil does td42t 2002 unit hold ?.

Looked into a bit Robo, it's sounds like the higher the number the more it is for harder working engines like towing vehicle and 4wding. I'd be putting 10,000 CST in it mate
