ICOM 440 Mike extension lead
Does anyone know where I can get a mike extension lead to suit the Icom 440.
Not sure if the radio shop is still going after John sold it in Sydney road
"Just communications".
@ Mudski is this something you could make with the correct fittings, it only
needs to be 1.8mtrs which seems to be the norm
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

You can make it yourself - the fittings are standard everday RJ style so parts and a crimper are available from Dick Smith, Tandy, Radio Shack et al if you can't borrow one
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RJ45-RJ11...item58b665d4db
You can buy a generic ext lead - again any sheilded RJ45 male / female pin to pin will work

You can buy a generic one off Ebay - doesn't have to be Icom as they are all the same

New genuine ones will be stupidly expensive (disclaimer - links for illustrative purposes only)

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Thanks guys that was easier and less
painfull to what I thought it would be.
IMO easier if the person in the jump seat
answers the UHF, If need be Ill fit an ext speaker
high on the driver and passenger side. would be nice if you could "bluetooth"
it through your head unit.

Dunno if it helps or not but... the Icom 440 should be a speaker/mic IIRC.
I have my Wouxun's with their Speaker/Mic's set up so the speaker in the Mic is active and an extra couple of mic holder clips.
That means the Mic moves nearest whoever needs to use it so it becomes an ext speaker so to speak.
(see what I did there)

I hardly use it TBH, but yes its a speaker /mike job.
Yeah I saw that very very clever.
Just seems so 80's lol having the mike on the drivers side.
Now if I can get the GLW to have some imput she may enjoy it abit more.
She loves the camping ,not so the 4x4 side of it
Where has everyone else put their mike on the drivers side???

My dear departed was kinda the same... once she had the ability to gasbag with others she was a much happier Navi.
Dual watch on the convoy freq (or a handheld listening out if anyone doesn't have dual watch) and a chat channel on the side made it much more enjoyable

I wired up a small 80 channel UHF into my camper, idea was to use as a home base radio.
Was handy up the Murray if someone was late to camp or went to grab some ice. I removed it now.
Might fit my USB/LSB CB 27meg instead and yak to ppl on the other side of the world
The mighty Dick Smith Hornet two lol
