Injectors 4.2 tdi GU IV
I have a GU IV 4.2tdi (yeah ), 125,000ks, 3" dump pipe and exhaust. The tappets have been adjusted each 20K and all normal services have been done.
It has gradually been blowing more black smoke under load and heavy acceleration, and chewing a bit more fuel than it use to.
My question, how frequently should the injectors be "dealt with", i.e. replaced (with reconditioned?).
PS want to buy a Kamper ?

If you dont mind getting them tested every 100k wouldnt be a bad idea. They go through a lot of cycles in 100k km.
They are getting quite cheap for exchange sets now too.
In saying that I still have the original pump and injectors in mine at 338k
