I dont use a pro-vent but does it have arrows on it at all,
I would guess it goes to the top and the bottom goes to the air intake.

I have gone this way on my 3L and do not recommend it.
After about a year of this hose being fitted it literally began sweating oil through the hose wall and dripping out all over the block. What is worse, hose is deteriorating away from the inside and bits of rubber got caught in the catch can filter. I have been told this is not a oil compatible hose form the beginning but took a punt anyway and yeah the end result is a ruined hose and bit of panic when it began leaking all over the driveway.
Yes it is a nice factory looking fit, but it is not the right hose.

Here is the falcon hose. See a very neat finish and fit. But shame it's just not the right one.

The inlet is at the top and out the bottom. Don't forget to put a hose on the drain port and block it or put a tap in it....
As for reducers I used 1inch OD to 5/8OD copper reducers from Reeces. The 5/8 was good for the outlet to the intake pipe as its bigger than the hose from the motor, about 1/2. So for the intake fitting I just cut a 2inch piece of 1/2OD copper pipe, flared one end with a ball pien hammer as I dont have a flaring tool, then this slid inside the 5/8 end and I just glued it in with some plumber glue. Never moved...
