Legendary
Yeah pretty much. Bought a bed & tall boy last year and the people were over the moon said how refreshing it wad to deal with someone normal. You'd think it pretty simple to coordinate a transaction but there's a quite few knobs out there. . . Plenty of decent people too still thankfully. . .

I am he, fear me
Using Max traxs??? ...well... It's like using a Deck of Cards to find help when you are totally alone miles form anywhere...
Sit down and deal a game of patience... within 1 minute someone will appear and say "Red 10 on the Black Jack"
For Maxtrax... get one out, put it upside down and sideways against a tyre, stand back and scratch your head... within 1 minute someone will appear and say "Thats not how you use a Maxtrax".
Then you put the Maxtrax away and get the dude to snatch you out... simples!
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Hardcore
Big shoutout to the CFA, Forest Fire Management and Police.
Late season fire near my daughters place which caused a bit of panic as the primary school was evacuated and the school bus diverted. Daughter was at work about 80km away and son-in-law law working near Darwin, lots of frantic phone calls to collect the grandkids from two different locations and evacuate a couple of BIG dogs.
Have to say I’m all in favour of kids having mobile phones if they live in the country, would never have found where the bus was diverted or what parent had taken the 5 year old with them.
Lots of roads closures and diversions but finally collected the older two and got to their house as the wind changed so no longer under threat.
Impressive effort by the fire crews as the wind was howling here, 60 CFA trucks, 25 Forest Fire Management, 3 choppers (including the Sky Crane), and a fixed wing were fighting it. There were three fires in the district and crews came in from quite some distance away. This was really out of control and heading towards a populated area. A shower of rain helped slow it down and get it contained.
Unfortunately some houses were lost and 5 people hospitalised (including 3 CFA Members).
Cheers
Jack

Travelling Podologist
And a big shoutout to Jack who kept us informed with what was going on with the fire. Our place was within the declared emergency area, but thankfully the efforts of firefighters plus a timely drop of rain & wind change all came together to ensure our place stayed safe. It's a pretty helpless feeling with lots of 'What if's' going through your head when you are so far from home. Brought it all back from when we went through similar whilst we were travelling 10 years ago on Black Saturday. It makes so much difference to hear from folk 'on the ground' whom you trust.
