The short ‘runway’ on Pentecost Island, Vanuatu. At the end of the grass is a cliff, a sheer drop into the sea. When taking off the plane drops off the edge at speed before climbing again. The other end of the runway is just a few feet behind the plane. When landing a week earlier the pilot hit the ground as close to the cliff as he could & then jammed on the brakes. The ground was wet & he got the plane ‘sideways’ but managed to stop inches before ploughing into the jungle. The plane was splattered with mud like a 4wd.

Guess I should say something about that now that you’ve raised it. I have also been asked about via PM.
The first entry was of a chopper,& now there have been several. I realise that choppers are not planes, but decided that it would do no harm to broaden the topic a little in the interests of maximising the number of entries. No one has whinged about the choppers being here & I hope that this month’s topic chooser ozjeff is ok with letting the choppers in.
So Planes & Choppers it is.
If you think it should be broadened further to ‘Aircraft’ click Thanks on this post. If I get 15 or more thanks I’ll make it Aircraft. If less than 15 we’ll keep it at Planes & Choppers.
Please don’t engage in discussion of your thoughts on this within the the thread.
Thanks
Cuppa

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever. WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
