Has Nissan installed the winch correctly?
G'day all,
I was reading through the manuals for my Warn XD9000 winch which was installed into the genuine Nissan steel winch bullbar by the Nissan dealer as part of the N-Trek package.
The manual states the winch rope should wind in onto the drum from under the drum, whereas on mine it winds in over the top of the drum. Looks like Nissan has installed the winch upside down, is this a normal install for the Nissan bullbar?
Here's a picture of my winch in the bullbar.

Note: the free spool lever is on the left and motor on the right side of the picture.
Cheers,
Nige

Yes, yes it is. The only way to fit them in one of these bars is to rotate the gearbox and flip them upside down. Your clutch leaver will now be on the drivers side and the motor on the passenger side. Cable will feed from the top of the drum.

Thanks for confirming that Rock Trol.
I guess I should also check the appropriate drain holes have been sealed and/or unsealed.

That's a good idea as some of the Warns have the holes. If it does and they have not rotated the motor then it will be on the top.

Yes, make sure the drain holes are at the bottom and don't seal them.
