    Y no snorkel...?

    Hey guys,
I am new to diesels and patrols and im currently looking at a 2006 gu but it has no snorkel, it has 245,000km with the 3.0di. Is this a bad thing? The radiator overflow is the cleanest I've seen so far so I was thinking it hasnt been too hot before but without a snorkel and a bullbar fitted im guessing air flow has been minimal.. am i stressin bout nothin or should i beware..?
any input is appreciated thanks guys

It has a genuine nissan bullbar btw
Also no NADS from what I've seen

And on a separate note why is the 4wd stick on the right side of the gearstick?

Again any advice or shared knowledge is greatly appreciated

Snorkels are useful when doing water crossings or dirt road travel where there is a lot of dust. If the car looks clean it might only have travelled on the black top. No need for a snorkel then.

The snorkel doesn't supply air to the radiator.
It's supplies clean air from above to the engine.
As rock trol said it's to get clean dry air.
So my car has done 515,000k with no snorkel. Last year did the high country without it. But it's good insurance if your looking at doing a lot of dust or water driving. But not critical.

Are you in Australia or overseas? If in Aus is it an imported model (as in came from a left hand drive country)?

By sources clean cooler air from up high you get a small power increase.
As others have stated great for diesels doing water crossing and dusty outback
    convoy situations.
If you decide to buy one ,,buy a brand name one, dont go down the cheap road.
Can you put up a pictures of the gear and 4x4 lever, and we'll take it from there.?
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
