Couple of issues to address, but no dramas. Now to get RWC, book it in with Vicroads getting transferred and regoed and off we go.
As soon as that is done first thing shes going in for a Snorkel and 3" pipe to let her breathe a bit better.
Nice pickup mate, low k clean car to start with,
Mine looked like that once

Thanks mate. My 3L was a spitting image of this when I bought that too and didn't look like that for long though. lol Just a few minor issues to sort out, and shes sweet. Underneath is getting cleaned up and sprayed soon for that new look. And I think my left hand side (passenger) engine mount is on it's way out. So I'm told, it is common ?????
Also snorkle and exhaust are ordered and waiting for parts. Gonna let her breathe properly first.

With 90k I would think the engine mount should be ok. But yes the passenger side mount is common to wear and fail quicker just by the nature of the engine.

Cheers newby. I do get a little bit of vibration. But i'm so new to driving the 4.2 so, I don't know how much vibration is normal. Also looking at it and sticking a screw driver between the mount sandwich it is a tiny bit worn so, might get them changed next service which is soon.

Around the 1,200 rpm mark I get a huge rattle or resonance coming from behind the dash towards the left hand side along with the door on the centre hidey hole between the air vents rattles it's arse off. Funnily it seems to do it more we coming down in the revs or holding a constant verses going up. Going around a round about in 2nd is a classic example of this. I'd do find if I just ease the clutch a tiny bit the vibration or rattle stops.
Think I'm going to pull the dash out and sikaflex everything together.
Cheers Rod

Cheers Rocket. I have rattle "somewhere" under the hood near the passenger footwell... I think. Only begins appearing when engine is warm and when taking off in 1st gear and just as I start applying the juice pedal. Same thing in 2nd gear when gearing up... I think it could be the exhaust or somewhere within the dump pipe area. So the exhaust that'll be fitted soon, will eliminate that as a possible cause I guess.
Pulling the dash out is serious business I believe. Mine has the bubbles, and is way over Nissans 6 year recall date. It doesn't bother me as I can see them under the dash mat. Maybe a job for the future...

pulling the centre console part of the dash off is easy, then radio out, gets you at the centre. Glove box out gets you into the left had side. Then start glueing /cable tying shit together. Probably won't take much as you don't need to secure everything you just need to change the frequency at which it vibrates. I find with the centre pocket door, when it vibrate I only need to apply the smallest touch with my finger and it stops. Might stick a blob of bluetac on it and see if that works. If so a dob of silica nor a strip of double sided tape etc, anything just to change the frequency. Bit of trial and error.

I also removed the butterfly from the housing in the red circle, don't know what you call it.
Between this and the EGR block, made it rev much freer and boost earlier.
Cheers Rod
