    Hodge's new 4.2

Well folks, I finally have an additional 1.2L sitting in my drive way. Very clean outside and inside 2005 4.2 turbo intercooled ST, in white, very low Ks !
Drove it from Adelaide yesterday and pulls like a freight train! Took me a but of getting use to going from 3L to 4.2 in terms of power and clutch but I had 750km to do just that ... Couple of issues to address, but no dramas. Now to get RWC, book it in with Vicroads getting transferred and regoed and off we go.
As soon as that is done first thing shes going in for a Snorkel and 3" pipe to let her breathe a bit better.

    2005 TD42TI

Nice work Hodge, great looking rig!

I recently went from the 3L up to the 4.2 and they are very different beasts, similar power on paper but the way the 4.2 delivers it makes it feel much stronger on the open road, yet around town I found the 3L auto to be quicker.
    Cheers Rod

I got sick of jumping on forum and seeing new blown up 3L threads. Mine drove like a dream albeit being moody sometimes. But i just didn't want to trust a 3L, and stressing every time I went away etc... So I made a call.

This fine specimen came up in Adelaide, my mate put me onto it. For the price, condition and super low Ks for a 2005 4.2, I couldn't resist.

Yes that is exactly what I found! Around town the CRD got me places quicker, and was very zippy. But on the freeway (and I had 750km of it to experience it), even at 110km/h + the 4.2 ate the 3L for breakfast it just wanted more. Even hills were nothing for it in 5th.
