Starting the GQ with old fuel

    Hi guys and girls

As your all aware my GQ has been sitting in the driveway unloved for well over a year

I'm in need to move it 2 allow easy access for some steel shelving for the garage which is getting delivered in the next few days.

Should I empty whats in the tank and put a few fresh litres in just 2 move it or could I get away firing it up with the old stuff in, would doing this do any long term damage???

    Cheers

    Toddie

I don't specificly know about the QG, but assuming its petrol and carby if you get stale fuel in it you will need to flush the entire system and maybe clean the carby. Drain the fuel thats in it is you can and use as much new fuel as you can. if it fires let it run a bit of new fuel into it before shutting down again. We have poured old fuel on the floor and chucked a match in. It doesn't burn at all.

    If you don't wish
    to drain the tank,
    maybe put a half cup
    of metho in
    to break up any
    moisture.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

    Todd,

If you cant get it going, do you want me to come up there and we can tow it to a new spot?

Thanks all for the input, think I will just run the risk with old fuel if it kicks over
