    My Aussie 4.8 import....

Well I'm in the UK and had the pleasure of a 2.8 GU shortie for a few years, but as anyone with a 2.8 knows they are somewhat 'underpowered'.

So when a friend was selling his 4.8, I just had to have it. He bought it new in Oz in 2003 and brought it with him when he moved here in 2005. It's done just 67,000 miles and has one or two mods including gas conversion. As far as we know it is the only 4.8 in the UK as they were never sold here :-)

The only disappointment is that lack of gadgets and refinements :-( My 2.8 has wood trim which makes a big difference and a temp gauge/compass in the roof console. UK spec Patrols also have locking rear diff and dislocating rear antiroll bar which the 4.8 has none of. Are these options or not available over there?

    Cheers

    Nick

Must be a weird feeling knowing you have a one of a kind in the country. If i had the coin id love to buy a GR shorty and bring it over here and drop a Td42 in it.
As for your questions. While im unsure of the Euro spec Patrols, its sounds like the 2.8 is a TI model, top of the line, and the 4.8 is an ST, middle class model. Which comes more than the base model DX, but less than the TI.
