    Centre console USB port.

My 2005 GU had an ash tray in the front which was never used. After losing the odd coin and having it constantly fill up with lolly wrappers etc I decided to put it to better use.

1 Buy a cup holder extension socket from SCA or on line.

This one has two cig lighter sockets and two USB sockets and a few pretty lights.

2 Remove the ash tray from the vehicle and make a plate from plastic or wood to fit in the hole.
Cut a hole in the plate a bit smaller than the top of the extension socket.

3 Remove the cup bottom and place the top in the plate you made. Then use the cup to sandwich the top and bottom together.

4 Run the extension cord under the centre console cover and either splice into the cig lighter feed under the dash or simply plug it in. Then insert the complete unit into the hole where the ash tray used to be. Double sided tape on the bottom of the “cup” will hold it in position, but it can be pulled out if you need to.

Aldi have these on sale this week fo $5. They are rectangular in shape not round, have 3 12V sockets and 2 USB sockets. Sadly only one pretty light. I know it was extravagant and I should have waited for Xmas but I bought one for the camper trailer and one for the Patrol. Xmas in July.
I stuck it with double sided tape next to the auto shift lever up against the dash cig lighter socket.
I still have the ash tray to lose bits in though.
    Cheers
    Michael

Somewhere between $15 and $30 depending on what the specials are and how many they have. Today it is $21.99 on line from SCA.
