Hello everyone
Hello All,
my first post on here, just a quick hello.
I have a 1991 Safari Kingsroad TD42 2 speed, its been mine for about 11 years and has served me well with very little trouble.
Great to drive and quite capable even without any modifications other than a set of BFG mud terrains.
However it is a Japanese market model in 24v so not easy to get wiring diagrams that cover its specific options.
My safari was purchased to tow the boat but I really enjoy it and use it whenever I can, off road use is limited to trips up the beach surf casting, camping and launching the boat.
I have background in mechanical engineering, machine design and product design.
Previously 4x4's owned: Toyota Surf 3 litre turbo and a Lada Niva.

Hi threedogs MEGOMONSTER 4by4 and AB,
thanks for the welcome.
Have just been working on the Safari chasing and fixing some problems.
The interior lights been staying on unless manually turned off and the door warning light on instrument cluster has been illuminated. Have been working through the possible causes I thought it was fault in door switch but they are all good, had instrument cluster out this morning checking the diodes but they were fine, I took off the panel around the fuse box tracing the loom and hello there is daylight under the carpet and I can see the ground through the hole in floor panel. Recently had whole underside blasted back to bare metal and resprayed with urethane, looks like there were pin holes of rust that blew through, the wiring loom to the door switches had shorted there. Fortunately the loom won't be hard to repair, the floor will be a bit more involved.
Also had the drivers door mirror apart as it was buzzing and rattling at idle, the internal clips had broken off the electric adjuster mechanism, only the bottom screw and a spiders web were holding the mirror in place. Took a gamble on not needing to take it apart and put a little bead of silicone sealer on the carrier next to where the clips had been so hopefully when that sets it will hold it in place.
