Ironman broke before the rated weight. And according to an article removed all stock from their shelves. But I imagine there are still items in curculation.

A fail is fail either way you look at it. Im surprised there is no safety factor with these straps. They were all pretty inconsistent even though most did get to there rated capacity.

Thanks,,, how can ppl skimp on recovery items , it is beyond belief.
Lives are on the line, There should be no excuse for this.
Saying wrong thread was used or labelling was wrong not exceptable IMO
I wonder what Ironman have to say seeing they are a sponsor here
And still no tow ball warnings

Wish they’d had my brand of strap in the test. Have never used it, but wouldn’t want it to fail when/if I do. Someone on another forum tells me they have one the same & have used it without problem a few times. Brand is ‘Black Rat’. http://theriggingshop.com.au/product...tch-strap.html
I’ve got the 1200kg one given the weight of my car + Tvan

2006 4.2TDi ex-Telstra Remote area Camper. 425w roof mounted solar, 360Ah Aux batts, BCDC1240, Onboard hot & cold pressurised & filtered water, (25 litre hot water calorifier), ARB fridge, ARB freezer, Built in kitchen, heaps of easy access storage, 240v, 3” Genie exhaust + dynotune, 2” lift, 3900kg GVM upgrade, second glovebox, ROH Blaktrak steel wheels, Bridgestone D697's (now Toyo RT's), Redarc gauges/pillarpod, Hema HX-1, Icom 450 CB, dual rear view cameras, Onboard 30amp Victron mains charger, second glovebox, dual seat conversion, TPMS, Boss PX7 onboard air with 9 litre tank, 350w inverter, Steel bullbar, Harrop Eaton diff lock (front), Warn winch, Snorkel, Dual spares , 160 litre water tank, 180 litre fuel in two tanks (approx 1200km range) 2010 Tvan Tanami. Im not sure how they can either especially when straps like the bush ranger and opposite lock ones perform very well and are very well priced. The bushranger i think is around 65 and the opposite lock 80 (dont quote me), the opposite lock item had the greatest strength.

Agree its not like the material used [webbing strap] is expensive
I would also think they make a nice profit on any strap up to $100
anything over that is just theiving IMO. Hope no one get injured
just because someone was cutting corners for more profit GGRRrr

@ Cuppa Black rat are ok

Funny how they say their testing noticed the straps were not up to scratch.
I would never buy a Tigerz product mainly because its built or made to a price not a standard

A comment only and not related to prev posts...
Unfortunately there is no full A.S. for Kinetic (Snatch) Recovery strap manuf or performance.
There is only a product A.S. regarding labelling.

It is past time the Gov't man brought in a full standard, maybe this will trigger one, maybe not.

At least a full A.S. will stop the import/manuf and sale of "shit" ones.

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.
