Clutch Pushrod Adjustment
Hi Guys,
The clutch on my GQ TD42 engages really close to the floor and i want to adjust it so that its a bit further up on the pedal. I've been told i can do this by adjusting the clutch pushrod. Anybody want to give me some pointers on how to do it.
Cheers

The rod length from the firewall to to the rod end eye should be a fixed length. I can't remember what it's supposed to be(check the manual) but this length will give you optimum gear changes, despite what one would think was normal clutch feel.
The rod is connected directly to the clutch pedal and can be seen under the dash board.
IMO and should be taken with a grain of salt.

that the rod up the top of the pedal yea?
so i need to undo the locknut and then remove the part that connects to the pedal and rotate it whichever way i need to to get the correct length?

Yes exactly right. Sounds like you know what's going on.

I usually undo the 4 nuts that hold the booster to the firewall. Not all the way, but enough to push the booster away and gives me room to turn the rod end.
IMO and should be taken with a grain of salt.

ok sweet, so just undo the nuts a bit and that will allow me to slide the booster forward enough to turn the rod.

I think these are your pedal specs: 202-212mm pedal height and 1.0-3.0mm free play (from haynes, GQ 4.2 diesel, if you still needed those figures)
