Question for the TD42 injection pump gurus
Here's a pic of the pump on the engine I just bought.
Can anyone tell me what the electrical thingy (technical term) is under the green dust cover.
I showed the pic to Mat this morning and he'd never seen it before..

Yep, as you saw, it's a cold start advance mechanism. Creates the advance by restricting the return flow.
Did I get that right?

Yep.
It will be fine to remove it. Just grab the appropriate banjo bolt from an injection shop. I have never seen one on an au delivered td42.
