    Tacho signal TD42

    Yes,more questions.. I've seen several threads talking about the tacho sensor in the front engine cover but there's a blanking plate on the td42T import engine I have.

    I found this brass sensor under the IP with 2 wires broken off and the wires hanging beside it with the rubber cap.
    Is this the tacho signal on some of these engines?

    It would make sense as that is where the ip gear is and the ip spins at half engine speed. Just like the cam.

    Shame they put it there. It might have survived the don't care wreckers if it was still in the front..
    Another $100 odd to add to the list..

    I saw one of the Canadian guys put up a pic of it there so it might be a Safari thing.
