Have read there are 26 recognised species of goanna or monitor lizards in Australia. It is said the Rosenberg's are ground dwelling but sightings of these are also reported in the Namadgi Nat Park hanging out up a tree. Reported as vulnerable in NSW.

@Bidja My computer is hopeless with out one I believe.
Here are two photos of different monitors, in the Woowoonga NP, Qld. The monitor that is on the path was taken with a 55mm lens and I wish I had a 300mm at the time, it would of made a good photo better. I remember both were huge.

Nice, you see much snow about thought it would have been a good weekend to sneak up the close hills and enjoy the arctic weather if it wasn't for renovating the bathroom. .

I got a soft spot for the D40's. My daughter who is 16, wants to buy a ute for her first car. She loves camping and is horse crazy. I'm secretly hoping its a D40 she likes. But she's old school and has a thing for the Subaru Brumby. Probably because of the name.

I can't fault it as a soft roader/tourer which is what I got it for. Good on fuel, comfy for long trips, good cabin size. Factory winch just in case...
