    Recovery Point Bolts

I know this question will have been asked millions of times! But I cant find any info definitive or useful! I got myself some recovery points but without bolts! Removed the bolts from the hook & measured & they look like 1/2" UNC can anyone confirm this? 3 dogs what bolts do you supply with your recovery points? They look like yours but not sure if they are genuine!! I know they need to be Hi Tensile is 8.8 ok or should I go 10.1? & what length should they be? Standard is 45mm so I was thinking 50 - 60mm?

Any help or advise greatly appreciated!!

I dont supply bolts unfortunately , early gu are sometimes 12mm x 1.25 pitch
at some stage around 06-07 they changed to 14mm x 1.50, grade 8 is fine if you can source stronger ones even better.
Dont forget to use Zinc plated , well only use zinc plated, Mine will have a yellow sticker on them,
50mm long should be long enough
what model ,motor and year is your Patrol???????

    Ok cheers 3 dogs! Its a 2006 GU4 ST 3.0 TD think MY05.

Yeah it definitely isn't 12mm! brought a M12 home from work last night & it just went straight through! brought the bolt into work today & an M14 nut doesn't go on the bolt, the bolt thread is way too fine! But yeah the thread pitch does look like a 1.5!

I know that arb use unc for the plate they install when they supply a bar. So original was metric fine, and the new set was unc.

I'd simply take the bolt into work and try.

It's weird that the factory mount would be unc. But nissan did weirder things when importing to different areas.

at 1/2 inch its UNC something like at
The price difference of a half inch UNC compared to a metric 12mm x 1.25 is a bit and more again for 14mm x 1.50
I think you'll find as in TJM or ARB they will use imperial where they can, its all down to cost,
Later model GUS have 14mm x 1.50 on the inside off the driver side chassis plus the two captive nuts underneath
    the chassis.
some 12mm bolts I buy are ove $8 each being odd sizes
