    Fuel pressure problems ...

Turned car on at work, no dramas. Drove for 5 minutes no dramas. Take of at lights just cruising... 1st, 2nd, put in in 3rd, slowly accelerate and then all power suddenly lost, no matter what gear, eventually engine dies.
Turn car on, starts right up no issues, then drove it home for 15km, hasn't skipped a beat. What the...
Checked scangauge and 3 pending codes. P0401 is the EGR code which is always there due to egr blank .
But I got new codes P0087 & P0192 which supposedly indicate fuel pressure issues at the rail (or lack of pressure)? According to some quick googling.
This maybe the start of the end of the pump I'm guessing, as it may or may not supply enough pressure to the rail.

Remember when I checked the bleed down of the rail for my customers car?? Can your scan gauge show you the rail pressure at idle, driving and bleeding down

Hey George. No scangauge doesn't show that.
What ended up being the issue?? Was it the rail relief valve by any chance ??

Yeah but it failed from the pressure solinoid on the pump. If you want come past and we can take it for a drive and see what's going on

    Hodge,

There are a couple of different causes, but I would head towards the pressure relief valve, as there has been a few of these fail over time......

You can buy them separately from the rail - so you don't have to fall for the Nissan line that you need to buy the whole rail.

Thanks mate. Yeah I found 3 exact same scenarios on the other forum.
They all also were low on fuel in the tank which I am as well. At George's now will look at pressures.
Hope it is just the valve.

Just got home. Thanks heaps to George again!!!
Relief tested ok, as its not dumping pressure too quickly once car off. So, will monitor from now on if it happens, I'll start with the relief valve and the solenoid replacement.

It's been 3 days since this happened. And i've been pushing the car a lot since then. Cannot get it to fault. Car drives fine, starts fine, everytime.
Mind you I did fill up, as it was quiet low that day, and added flashlube as I always do. So I just hope it was some bad fuel maybe? Fingers crossed. 2

Maybe the gauges shows less than what is really in the tank and it sucked uo some air but as the engine was at a higher than idle rpm it bled itself out?? Anyway good to hear its still running strong!!
