Auto transmission fluid change on GU Patrol question.
Hi fellas,
I am in the process of changing fluids on my 2008 GU Auto Patrol with 101,000 km on the clock.
The manual says that the auto contains 11.8 L of ATF. On draining the transmission at the sump only 4.2 L came out, so I guess the rest is in the oil cooler and pipes How do I go about draining the extra oil in these areas? I am refilling with Penrite Full Synthetic ATF FS.
Thanks
Michael

You can't drain it, you need to flush it. The process wastes a bit of oil but you get the whole system flushed including cooler and lines. Highly recommended if your changing to synthetic.
Your local trans shop could do it.

absolutely get it all flushed out if your going synthetic I put penrite semi mhp, I took the pan off changed the filter and used compressor up the cooler pipe and got 8 litres out. (measured it) put 8 back in and from there change the oil out of the pan every 10 thousand. and your oil will always be fresh.
