New Patrol owner
Hi everyone, I just purchased my first Patrol and it's a 2003 GU III st-l with 144000 klms. I'm the second owner and it was previously owned by and old guy who unfortunately has passed away. While he owned it he replaced the radiator with a desert cooler and upgraded the transmission cooler had a 2inch lift with air bags and dual batteries. All I could see when purchasing it was oil around the turbo and what looks like the oil filer leaking a bit too. Drives strong and very quiet, hopefully I get many years of joy from this beast.

G'day and welcome to the forum mate. Oil round the turbo could mean your i/c has oil in it or even that the engine oil is overfull. there is a lot of info about too much oil in these motors on the forum.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum , a few things the previous owner may have over filled the motor.
The mighty ZD30 doesn't like it, when you next change the oil change the "O" ring as well that may stop
the oil. other than that jump in anytime and enjoy yourself, an oily intercooler will mean its leaking.
replace it with a tigged one
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Thanks all, I've been doing a lot of reading the last couple of nights and today I raced home after work and dropped the engine oil replaced the oil filter and "o" ring. replaced the very dirty air filer and removed the cowling from the intercooler and thankfully it was only just damp in a couple of spots, put about 8.2 litres of Delo 400 multigrade in. Supercheap didn't have any crc MAF cleaner so i'll try and pick some up tomorrow. Ran some de-greaser over the oily spots gave it a quick was down but it was to dark to see how well it went.
