G'day!
G'day, looks like a good forum. Im in the ACT, so another Canberran.
Browsing around after having a few drama's with the rb30, and found a stack of helpful info from Mudnut in the y60 helpful hints thread, thanks for all that mate.
I've had a 92 GQ for about 5 years, and thought it's about time I fixed a few minor leaks (water, power steering etc), after I had the motor play up a bit. Had to replace the ignition module in the dissy and she's all good again. 417000 on the clock and never had the head off (I've got the service history from new, the oldman had it for 10yrs before me, and he bought it off a bloke who owned it from new in my suburb), just goes through the usual stuff like alts and starter motors.
Almost no mechanics touch my car. Only exception is mandatory state lpg stuff that has to be certificated, so I was forced to take it in for the 10yr lpg tank test, not that hard to balls up, right? Only two bolts to remove to free the steel bands holding the tank up, got home after and climbed straight under to check anything the monkeys had touched, and one of the tank support bands had a stripped thread. Good old rattle gun on 1000NM. Now that's real great for driving down the road and having the tank fall right out. And to think the government roads authority is the one forcing me to let others touch my car. Had to drill the hole out and stick a 10mm bolt through it, with a washer and nut slipped in through a tiny gap.
So here I am, thanks to everyone who contributes to build up this forum, and i'll chuck in what I know when I can help out.
Cheers, Ant
