Light upgrade
Hi all was wanting better vision from the standard headlights. I have spotties etc but want better vision around town without running them. Don't want hid. Has anyone tried led if so how did you find them and what wattage did you go. Or what halogen globes are people running and again wattage. Thanks for your opinions people.

You can upgrade the standard wiring to a thicker gauge and add relays, standard Nissan wiring has a fair amount of voltage drop and you lose light output.

My GU has pretty good light spread from the standard lenses, I reckon it would respond well to just a bulb upgrade - and it's the cheapest and quickest upgrade

As Winnie says. You can can get prebuilt wiring harnesses built specifically for the patrol for about $100 bucks from memory. This upgrades the wiring gauge to your headlights to minimise voltage drop.
Not hard to make one yourself though if you wanted
The advantage also is that the current no longer flows through the headlight stalk switch which also helps
