hello frm perth w.a
hello there another newbie to the forum and also the patrol scene..
my usually 4b of choice has been an 80 series cruiser... hopefully i won't have any regrets changing over to a patrol.. I'm not bias like toyota vs nissan etc...
what evers reliable and looks after the family Im happy..
so should be another week or 2 and il pickup new rig...
its a 04 gu patrol.. 3td, 5 speed manual... at first i was a bit turned off.. being the zd30 as I've herd too much grenade stories... current owner has done mods to keep engine safe n reliable... but il be also fitting egt and boost gauge once i finally get it... current owner also has told me they had a crap dual mass flywheel design so has just upgraded that to a solid piece unit which he reckons has made it a lot better than before.. after test driving i was pretty happy with the power and fuel economy.. comfort and the way it handles.. any feedback on this particular model would be much appreciated..cheers and thank rata..

Welcome to the forum mate. Plenty of ZD30 that haven't grenaded, but they only make news when they do. If the previous owner has done some mods, NADS? shpuld be OK, but not sure if you can do NADS without boost and EGT guage. How would you know if its doing any good?
Anyway have fun with your new toy. Post some pics when you get it.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race. Lost in time. And lost in space... and meaning.

haha cheers for the welcomes... I'm not to sure exactly what mods have been done but he was telling me the mods prevent carbon build up on a sensor or something.. he has only done 4 trips off the black top so hasn't had much 4x4 work.. runs standard boost and all and all a tidy bus.. has bulbar and warn winch, arb spotties, dual battery setup with power to the rear for fridge etc, 3 inch old man emu lift kit and micky t 33x12.5 muddies.. and ice cold aircon which was a must.. haha
