    Both indicators or just one?

Put your hazards on and ensure all four lights are working first then let us know.

Could also be other faults with the trailer plug/ wiring and I'm sure other things as I'm hopeless with electrics but try that first?

You will have to place a pair of inline led resistors as there will be a power drop at the LED. It is a simple fix

The speed of the flashing is set by the resistance of the lamps. With LED lamps you will have to add a resistor to the circuit to reduce the flash times. Don't know where you are in WA but this is the type of thing you need.

This add from SCheap but NARVA should be available from most outlets Repco etc or on line.
    Good luck.

You just replace the Flasher Relay under the dash near the steering column with an LED compatible one.
Less than $5 on Fleabay or $15 aussie sellers or $25 retail at Supercheap etc.
I don't see the point in arrrsing around with load resistors.

The only time you need to add a load resistor is if your Cruise Control uses the same micro switch as your brake lights and stops working.
Then you need to add a single load resistor in the brake light circuit.
If your cruise uses a dual brake switch setup or isn't sensitive to floating voltage then no worries

Hi Allymac , after trying all other led flasher relays . I found this relay works well as you can adjust the speed of flasher and it's cheap from Ebay regards Alex
