    magellan usb port buggered

I have a magellan explorist 710. I use the bike to power the gps through the usb port & after a couple of big prangs, no longer works. I rang magellan & the with unit being out of warranty, they don't want to know anything about it(but will sell me another one). Does anyone know of a shop that can replace the usb port?

Magellan would have a service agent or agents who could do that repair. Whether it's worth it us another question. Cost-wise, you might be better off buying a new one.

i got one of those bloody overseas call centers and he would not offer one repair shop. I emailed magellan 2 days ago & have not heard back. Jaycar sounds like a good idea. Surely it can't cost $600 to fix it?!!!!!

Did a quick Google and found these guys amongst others. They do these sort of repairs. No idea if they are any good, but it is a start.

Just take a look in yellow pages for electronic repairers. They'll fix all kinds of shit. When my daughter bust the power socket in her tablet, my old man found a place and got it fixed....... Didn't know jaycar did repairs

I tried to call but no luck & have sent an email. At least they give prices on the port repair. Will wait and see.
