Antitheft measures, what have you done ?

Given the number of 4wd thefts occurring, what measures have you taken to protect your pride and joy ?

In my case I have tracking enabled via more than once mechanism, and a scripted alert (sms) if the car moves when it usually wouldn't. I've had a car stolen before (HSV) and so tend toward the paranoid.

    What have you done ?

I have a secret switch which isolates the fuel solenoid.
Simply tapped into the feed wire and placed the switch in the cab.
The engine still turns over and stumbles a little at the start (left over fuel) but hopefully draws attention or flattens battery.
    Cheers

I've got a missus with a rather large handbag and sh pass a mean punch.

In all seriousness though, why broadcast to he world what our have, if someone is determined enough or has the smarts, they will take your vehicle no matter what preventions you've undertaken.

I use an old club lock I have had from the eighties. It used to be on my VL Commodore. Some dip shites broke in and tried to get it off. The steering wheel was in bad shape but they never got it off and the car remained where it was. Pity about my stereo and tools though.

As a test I got my Dad to have a go at getting the car started with the keys. Within 2 minutes of opening the car door he had the car going. Back to the drawing board.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

After my car was broken into in a dodgy major town 2 years ago, I had an aftermarket alarm/immobilser fitted. Sensors in all the windows. Hubby cant even start it without blowing our eardrums out..

So hypathetically I am a scumbag thief reading this, I now know what will prevent it from starting. So a study of the electrial drawings in a store bought gregory's manual and now I can come prepared to do ome quick wiring before I make my getaway.
