    GQT's new patrol

Been a long time since I have posted anything on here, still been lurking around now and then. Got rid of my old GQ 11 months ago now, and 4 month's ago I couldn't go any longer without a 4x4. So the hunt was on for a new GQ

This time around I wanted something cheaper with a rougher body I wouldn't stress about denting. Ended up with a 88 tb42 with a few mods already done.

    Here's a list as I bought it.
88 GQ LWB wagon tb42 manual
    VZ commodore front seats
    2" suspension lift
    2" body lift
Front and rear bars lifted to suit body lift
    Bidders lower control arms
upper j arm for the aux tank
    Rear adjustable panhard
    32x11.5 mt's
Gearbox and diff breathers into the bay
    Duel batteries
12,000lb ironman winch with rope and dead solenoid
Duel fuel, bigger aux to suit body lift
    Reverse camera
    Uhf
    4" stainless snorkel
    Petronix ignition
    Apparent rebuilt motor
Seems to have extended brake lines
    Factory rear vacuum locker
    Upgraded steering arm.
    Rear draws
    Cargo barrier
Rear light setup without the light
    Lightforce spotties, one stuffed
    Small crap dead spotties
    Alloy radiator
    El falcon thermo fans
    In cab winch controls
    Think that's all lol.

    What I've done.
Swapped rear bar bits for better ones I had laying around
Ripped body lift out, so had to cut brackets welded to the chassis to lift the rear bar off, change aux tank and drop bullbar.
    Fitted a superflex arm
    Ripped the swaybars off
Fitted a new grille, (old one was munted)
    Fitted rear mudflaps
Ripped out the alloy radiator after it died and thermo's
Put a standard radiator and shroud in and clutch fan
Replaced the spotlights with an led bar from led light co
Got a led bar for the rear

    Things to come.
Rear 1/4 chop and bar to suit
    Rock sliders
    Mount and hardwire my compressor
    Eventually 35's for bush
    Enjoy it

    Wish list
    Commercial tube bar, thinking millweld
    Td42 turbo

    The important bits, pictures

Had to do a little straightening out to get the new grille on haha

Got a 6.25t shackle for the winch rope

Picked up a 2.5x3m awning for $50 off a rollover, L brackets and alloy backing was knackered. Bit of flat steel and m6 high tensile bolts with lock nuts sorted it out cut the side off the roof rack that came on the car to mount the awning to and painted it all black.

Been doing some thinking and research. Decided on some more mods after getting the aircon regassed and winch working again. Will be a front locker, then some reduction gears Get the old girl driving further with less effort.

Today I finally got around to getting the right draw fitted up in the car, had a busted and missing runner when I bought the car. And of course the heavy dutt runners I got are thicker then the old ones and required the draw to be narrowed 15mm :/

But now I got all my recovery gear, toe hitch, rear light, wheel chocks and wheel brace in the left draw. And spares, tools and ground anchor in the right draw
