Engine Guardian EG3 questions
hello, for those that have fitted the Engine Guardian EG3. Where is the best place to put the engine temp sensor? What would be max & min temps?
What would be the best spot to put the second sensor- gearbox or transfer case(& where)? What woulds be the max/min temps there? I have no idea what temps the gearbox runs at.
Does the oil pressure alert come off the patrols electrical system & if so where is the wire to tap into?
Does the kit have a wiring diagram for dummies? cheers

Uuummmm... in order of Q's
-Depends on which sensor you have ordered.
If it is the stud type then any bolt on the Thermostat Housing
-Depends on what engine, sensor placement and which sensor you have orderd
-Is it an Auto? If so then as close as is reasonable to where the fluid comes out on it's way to the Rad.
If it's a manual, you don't really need it and there is even less point in putting it on the transfer case.
Temps will again depend on what gearbox, what your doing and where you attach it.
-Yes
-It is best IMHO to tap the oil alert onto the wire from the oil pressure switch.
It must be a switched signal then you set that in the Guardian.
-Yes
Mine came with everything needed and the Relays, wiring etc were all very good quality 'cept for the mounting plate for the display is a tad flimsy IMHO
I run a Chevy Diesel with a 4L85 Auto tranny and it is a great bit of kit, dare I say essential, for my truck

Manual/zd30crd-I haven't ordered anything yet. So all i need is the 2 sensor kit-oil and one bolt on sensor.
After that episode with the fuel tank i realized i don't look at the dash lights as often as i should.

Yeah, I reckon so.
That way you get an alert if the temp set point is reached and also if your oil pressure drops.
The extra temp sensor is only another $20 if you did want to get it tho.
Kinda up to you.
I was in a different situation and needed all 3

Work is Freo or anywhere on the Coast from east of Esperance to Wyndham and all points inbetween.
I have a really shithouse job and it is only fair that I do it till I kark it so noone else has to put up with the killer hours, abysmal pay and onerous working conditions.
About 3 years ago the Boss even wanted us to do some work after lunch instead of shooting off early, bloody slave driver.
