Cross Country Disappointment
Hey all
recently purchased a top mount intercooler for a gq swb patrol td42 from Cross country 4x4 as i know they have a great reputation and their product looks good...After a long six week wait i received this intercooler kit and would just like to know the publics opinion if you would accept this quality at a full retail price of $1800 inc postage to perth, have tried to negotiate with the sales person and just received no help and no solution to the matter..i know this wont affect performance but all i want to know is peoples opinions on the matter WOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS QUALITY if you spent $1800 and could anyone enlighten me on what may have happened here??? the sales man ive been talking too says its a manufacturing faultIMG_7121.jpgIMG_6181.jpgIMG_5509.jpgIMG_3387.jpg.

Hi mate,
No I wouldn't accept it, obviously not what you were expecting or paid for.
You've got a few options but I would recommend you put your complaint and refund/exchange request in writing/email, that way there is a trail.
Mention that the salesman admitted it was a manfacturing fault. If you paid by credit card you can stop payment via your bank, you can tell cross country 4x4 that you are going to do this - it may encourage them to negotiate.
You can also contact your consumer affairs office, not sure what they are called in WA.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.
Cheers

Mate I would be getting it returned its faulty workmanship at the least, there is no way that could have been pressure tested. Call the manager or owner don't talk to the monkey, get it replaced.

I would not put that on my car. They need to send out a replacement and pick that one up. With an apology to you for the delay

Mate its time to act quickly.
A company that has promoted itself so well and have a respectable market share and presence is acting out of character.
Its just a gut feeling, but, they may not be floating real well.
If all was going well they would have sent you a replacement immediately, provided they have seen what you posted here. There could be a reason you have been sent this damaged item, you can't drop in to see them easily. I am very sceptical of what has happened to you.
Consumer law has a term, fit for purpose. If that intercooler is damaged and likely to fail then it is not.
Best of luck.

That is not good. For a company of that caliber / reputation and for the price you paid that is ridiculous. Would definitely not accept that quality mate.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
