Maiden Gully (near Bendigo) - Rocky Rises Trails

Has anyone done any of these tracks? What are they like??
A woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart.

Hey Belzi, thats what the Patrol is for... Thers only one way to find out where they go and what they are like... and thats point the 'trol down the track and hang on! hehehe

However, saftey first. If you are going into unknown territory, grab some topo maps and a friend or two. You've done the right thing here and seen if anyone else has had a look.

There is a write up on 4x4 earth in regards to this area though. Here is the URL http://www.4x4earth.com.au/tracks.ht...y-Rises-Trails

    Cheers and have fun.

    Hi Rob,

That is where I first saw the track and I can't find it on any map. Have a few friends that are going there this weekend and was thinking about checking it out with them and if any good go out again with Forum members

    No worries.

There are a few online resources you can use to checkout a potential area for fun and frivolity.

Google Maps is the first one I look at. Gives me an idea on whats around the area and ofcourse, how to get there.
    http://maps.google.com.au

The Australian Geoscience Website has a wealth of information including maps.

Then there is this one. You can buy the app for your smartphone. There are other Apps out there such as Hemma maps etc, but I thought Mud Maps is a mid range application for information and price.

    HI Roofy,
No photos, lots of video so in the process of editting 5 hours worth and then will post on here. I am tempted to take a day off work to do it!

I live in Bendigo Belzi and have never heard of this area.
Was going to go and have a look but seeing that you have I wont bother.
Big Fletch has an area over near Shepparton which apparently is good.
