Hooked up the rear 20w LED work light on one of ferrets brackets. It's powered up by via the rear fuse box with a relay for good measure and then switched on up the front via an ON-OFF-ON switch.
The light works manually, but I'm still having some problems picking up the trigger from reverse to switch the light on automatically - problem for another day!!

Nice work on the lights.
Where did you send the wire through at the back for the spare wheel light ??
Also if your relay is somewhere close at the back you could pick up reverse trigger from the wired up rev. light maybe .

Thanks mate.
After some deliberation and research, I drilled a hole on the back of the door (just under the light bracket), painted it up and but a rubber gland over it before shoving the wire through.
It appeared to be the way that most people did it on later model GU's. How have you connected your work light up?
Yeh relay is up the back next to the fuse box.
Based on my limited understanding of auto elec work, I was under the impression that the switch needed the reverse trigger and not the relay. I.e. If the switch was turned 'on' manually or triggered by reverse it would power of the relay and conversely the light...
Happy to be corrected though?

You just need to run another cable from the reverse light (or reverse switch on the gearbox) to the switch.
