Pretty sure you will find all DOT 5 is Silicon based and so should never be mixed with any of the other Glycol based fluids (e.g. DOT 3), I believe its not a matter of just draining all the DOT 3 and flushing with DOT 5 either, due to the absorption of fluid by any rubber in the system (seals/hoses), and so best only to be used on a newly built braking system where all components/rubber lines are new and advised suitable to use with Silicone based fluid.

i was really peeved at having to put a brand new tyre in the bin the other day I bought a 2nd hand BA Ford for daily drive and it has aloys and a steel spare and the spare in the original tyre from 2004 and now any tyres over 6 or 7 years are not to be used because they may delaminate the guy at the tyre place said

and some guy on the john Law was talking about a special $10k insulin pump his daughter has he said after 4 or 5 year you get a message in 1 month this pump will stop and you have to replace it another 10k why the John Law show was looking into it

so a couple of dollars for my tyre is nothing compared to 10k for a insulin pump that can save a persons life
