Forgive if I’m wrong, but isn’t the whole point of a swag to have a bed ready set up that can just be rolled out or rolled up, without all the set up involved with tents & the like?
of course anyone should choose what suits them, but from my perspective having a swag+stretcher bed+tent thingo to put up over stretcher (with what I imagine might be the fun & games to get inside said tent thingo, especially when over a stretcher you can’t sit on the edge of) seems to defeat the whole purpose.

Swags are bulky things which get bulkier as you add these items to them.

Stretchers seem like a good idea as you get a bit older, to make life easier than having to get up off the ground, but if you can’t sit on the edge of them doesn’t that do away with that advantage, & if those you can sit on the edge of are much lower, what is the advantage over a self inflating mattress on the ground.

Without the insulation of an additional mattress on the stretcher, they could get pretty cold with the air passing under them, so by the time you’ve got swag+stretcher + tent thingo (or tarp) + mattress ............. surely you are now well & truly defeating the ‘minimalist’ appeal of the swag?

I guess with the relatively modern popularity with camping stretchers, something I’ve never had, I must be missing the point somehow. Or are they one those ‘good ideas’ in the camping shop for which the promise doesn’t quite hold up when out in the bush?

Me ...... I’m old enough to want a comfy permanently made up bed like Bob.

We wanted to go for ease and speed of set-up so the latest purchased combo is an RV-4 Oz-Tent with two Black Wolf Turbo Beds! I can be set up in under 5 which is pretty good! The Turbo Bed are fantastic, a bit on the exy side though.

People who saw me setup the Bunker XL were amazed how quickly it just unfolds and is ready to go... And is so comfortable!

Well, I'm hiding Bob's photo from the Missus. She'd probably actually come on a regular basis, if there was a made up, comfortable bed, but I don't want to have to tow a caravan or similar. It would definitely adjust where you plan on going. The same goes for what you've been looking at Cuppa, will be a good solution I reckon, if you are towing.

The turbo beds are in that same 150kg rating and any of the Black Wolf stuff seems to be pretty good quality. No doubt the Bunker also looks good.

Can someone just give me a cutting from their money tree, along with a good dose of manure. One of each would be nice. Just choose which combo on the day depending on what trip you want to do.
