More than happy with the fridge. Had to use a portable generator to keep it going coz there was no electricity. PIA topping it up with 2 stroke fuel 3 times a day. Solar's the way to go.
The big issue was keeping it out of the sand. I lost all of my bench space in the 'kitchen', coz it sat on that, but it was worth it. I was very nervous at the start coz we had 2 weeks worth of food in it and I kept an eagle eye on the temp - especially when we turned the gennie off overnight.
I had it on the side of my pod and had to move stuff around to pack up, when it slipped and I 'nursed it' to the ground. I was spewing. All's good though. When I got it home, I cleaned it out, plugged it in and froze a big jug of water, so I'm happy. The promo add for the fridge shows a 4wd flexing on it, so I'm happy that no damage - except my pride - was done.
I followed advice from people, including you, to freeze everything first and turn it on a day or two before going away, and it worked a treat. Nothing defrosted.
My main concern was that "Is the fridge too big?". Should I have got 2 x 40lt ones, ect. But it worked out fine.
