Depends on the combos you can have
In QLD the basic 3 letter,3 number are $415 a set
Up to $1500 a set for the real flash combos
NSWs are different again many different styles and pay a yearly fee
Dont renew the fee, hand the plates back
Do you not have a specific plates site you can try combos on ???
QLD its PPQ.com.au

no, there's no site you can test them out on here in WA. it's a proper pain in th'ass.

Up to 9 letters or 9 numbers or any combo of either up to 9 with spaces counting as 1 each eg...
MIGHTY GQ (which I sold and is still current so that one is out).
Any offensive combinations will be rejected at the Registery if the person handling the applications twigs to it and if you do happen to get something thru and members of the public complain to the Dept then Transport will take the plates off you. Having said that the plate has to be pretty "off" before they will do that
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Yeah, over here you have to head off down to the Rego Office and the nice person just checks as many as you want on the database till you decide.

you can use the registration expiry date website https://online.transport.wa.gov.au/w.../registration/ to see if the plate is licensed
but the plate you want might not be registered
