Shovel vandals
G'day all,
Whats to stop people from taking the shovel off the roof basket on the truck or where ever it may be and damaging your vehicle with it whilst its at the carpark or something?
have people already thought about this and fixed a locking system to the shovel? This hasnt happened to me however i dont doubt it couldn't happen to someone else.
Glen.

BIG & BALD
I was given a shovel/hi-lift holder as a gift but am worried for this very reason. I am yet to fit it, as I reckon the stuff will get pinched.
Never argue with an idiot, cos he'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

You have to "assume" that any idiot wanting to steal a shovel is just a walk by individual spontaneously deciding to take it without proper tools so go get some torx bolts on some kind of fastening set up would be all you can do really...

Annoying part to all this is when you simply want to get your shovel off your rack you have to dig in the back of your car and try and find the torx key to simply get a $20 shovel....grrr!!!!!

I like the idea of the torx bolts, but i see how that'd be a pain. I sometimes leave my shovel on the side of the roof tent i have but where i am, everyone knows everyone.
However my main concern for putting something out there is if people were not to just pinch your shovel of high lift jack, but actually damage your vehicle with it in some way, ie: shovel through the windscreen. Its a possibility i guess.
I suppose you could make up some sort of pin and pad lock system if you were worried.
