Yeh I agree. BFGoodrich or Goodyear's would be the way to go. Yokohama also do one called the Geolander. Whatever you get just remember to rotate at least every 10,000km. If you look after your tyres they'll last forever.

Thanks guys ok need another tip on tyre pressures have been out a couple of times now but last time I lost a tyre leaving bush on a fresh crated road found flat at a gate looks like it was slashed by a rock side wall looked very wavy when reinflated?? so replaced it but to avoid this happening again what sort of pressure should I run on once I leave the main sealed roads? I was running road pressure as experienced mate never had a flat before but don't wanna be stung with killing another new tyre

I run the standard road pressure noted on the tyre. I lost 2 tyres to slashed sidewalls when I used to run Bridgestone DD's, one 2 weeks old but have not had any issues since switching over to Coopers. The majority of the good brands have a modle with added sidewall intrusion protection these days which is a great help in stopping what occured with your tyre.
I run AT's but have a look at the type threads on here as guys are now sayign the current lot of MT styles are just as good onthe tar as the mud.
Seemed like a good idea at the time

It wasnt the side wall that got cut but the actual tread was sliced

40 psi if on the hwy, down to 20 psi off road lower on sand.
Outback roads around 30 psi but drive to conditions
Around town 35 PSI, thats general give or take to suit your needs
Lowering pressures for off road help the tyre to mould to rocks for grip
and prevent side wall damage , take care on the line you choose as well
