Patrol Guru
Marks 4wd,
Being the guys that sell all of the conversion gear, do you know of any workshops that do the actual conversion often? I read about a guy up in Brissy who does them in about a week for 15k drive in, drive out.

VH45 in a Patrol, nice! Will this work out cheaper than a Chev LSx conversion?

Hi Tony,
The kit cost is about $3500.00 this gives you bellhousing adaptor, flywheel, clutch, and engine mounts. this will get the motor bolted into the Patrol and ready to go once all the wiring fuel exhaust is done.
Brisbane motor imports have front cuts for about $2200.00 plus freight.
You will need to modify the sump (reverse it), possibly remote mount the oil filter, build exhaust, wire it up, sort cooling can run either thermos or clutch fan (RD28 will bolt on or could run Toyota fan with an adaptor we make for them) TD42 radiator will suit best as inlet and outlets are on the correct side. You might need to move accessories depending on the motor you get. The car above they are running a TB45 air box with 3.5 inch inlet and outlet (same as throttle body)
Doing the conversion yourself you will be able to get it done for a really good dollar.
Cheers Elliot

Hi Marks 4wd,
Just wondering what your recommendation would be in regards to transfer case reductions gears for a 2003 4.8 auto patrol? I want to try and stop it running away downhill andsave the brakes. I'm currently running 285/75/16 tyres but may on the odd occasion want to run 315/75/16 on weekend day trips. Would the 85%'s be too much for punting around in low range all day in the bush? Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Darren

Hi Mark,
I was just wondering if you have done any ford V8 conversions in I6 and how much kits are worth if you have them
Cheers, Jason
