Rb25det into swb

Is it possible to put a Rb25det into a swb patrol gq.

Yes no different than any other patrol hardest part would be doing the job but if you search for it there's a guy who put one in his GU wagon a whole ago

The gu's have a different gear box. Im pretty sure the rd28 gear box allows u to bolt the Rb25det straight up. Mine however is a tb42. Was wondering if anyone had done it to this without replacing the gear box

if the patrol is a rd or rb series motor then the rb25 just bolts in.if its a tb or td youll need to cut and repostion one of the engine mounts

So the bell housing is the same or do u need to just change the bell housing?

Removed my tb42 today, looks pretty terminal. Decided that im gonna go ahead and do the Rb25det conversion. Just need some solid info on the conversion before I start. If anyone knows of someone who has done the conversion and can help with info would be grately appreciated.

Found a good Rb25det engine to go in the swb. Not sure as to wat clutch n flywheel to use the tb or the rb. Hopefully bolts up to the tb gearbox.
