    Road Closues in High Country

    Flood Closures
    Visitors are asked to avoid a number of areas in the Alpine National Park due to damaged bridges, land slips, fallen debris and/or wet slippery road and track conditions.

    A full list of flood closures can be downloaded here.
    http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resour...s-AlpineNP.pdf
    Current flood damage closures in popular visitor / 4WD areas includes:

    Wonnangatta – Moroka / Howqua – King (Dargo - Licola – Mansfield)

    * King Billy Track
    * Dry River Walking Track/ Bicentennial National Trail from Howitt Rd to Wonnangatta Valley and from Guys Hut to Wonnagnatta Valley.
    * Howitt Road open to 4WD vehicles with care
    * Bluff Link Road (between 16 Mile Jeep Track & Howqua River)
    * Upper Howqua Camping Area

    Bogong (Mt Beauty)

    * West Kiewa Logging Road
    * Catherine River Bridge (Buffalo River valley) will be replaced in February 2011. Vehicles must cross the river via the ford adjacent to the work site. Please note that relatively small rainfall events may make the ford impassable.

    East Alps (Omeo, Benambra, Corryong)

    * Davies Plain Track including the southern access to Charlies Creek
    * Taylors Crossing ford (foot bridge is open)
    * Macs Creek Rd

    Other closures
    * The top section of Riggall Spur Track between Echo Point Track and the junction with Gillios Track is closed until further notice.

    Crikey!!!.... The Hume Weir must have a lot of water in it for Corryong to have flood damage.
    Just about to jump into my next Patrol. A 2001 GU II TB45E .

    WARNING!: Do not ever use a towball as a recovery point. They are not rated and can become a deadly projectile during a recovery if they snap off, and they have done so with tragic results in the past.

    Question

    RK - Corryong is nowhere near the Hume Weir !! You must have it mixed up with some other town.

    i just checked the road closures & can't get into King Basin Track, closed from Pineapple Flat to King Hut, so will have to work out a new route for Easter trek.

    That part of the King River last Easter was shoulder to shoulder. That will cause some confusion
