I know of a property only 35min away that is on 100 acres with 2 thirds bush and one cleared for $300,000+.... I love the property and often shoot there.
Same here. I know of a few up Whittlsea way at the moment which are somewhat my dream properties, but I cannot look at them as we're not in a position to buy/move, so I'd just get depressed like you say.

I think you're going to struggle to find anything that comes anywhere near Nissheads. Perfect location, it's got everything you could possibly wish for.
As far as I could see there's only one drawback - to damn far away from my place.
Cheers

Looks like your home now, hope the rest of your trip was good winnie + amy (+diesel) Thanks to Krisso + Fiona for the weekend and sharing your property. Wow what a lucky score that place is, it's bloody amazing. Time to relax for a couple of days. (Not that the past week has been stressful) then . . . On the move. . . for the final leg of the journey. . .
Did you go back to the big hole ?

To be honest Kris's place is not my dream place... I loved it dont get me wrong but I am after something else in a place... upon saying that what he paid you could not find anything close to that.
And yes Hodge our position has changed a lot in the last year and there is no way in hell we could afford to move at the moment let alone buy a property... how things change hey.

Yeah did the walk to the big hole and marble arch, pretty impressive. Drove into Bendethera valley and stayed the night there on the Deua river. Beautiful spot reminded me of Wonnongatta valley with cleared areas in the valley surrounded by mountains. Plenty of river crossings too and awesome drive out along the Mercumbene fire trail. Steep sections but easy drive with great views to the coast and mountains.

...........all those prices are a rip off!! Hahaha suckers!!!!!
My grandparents are selling their part of the farm (it was only a yearly holiday place anyway as they live in Adelaide).
Just shy of 50 acres, about 40 of which is cleared, fenced farm land, the rest is old growth forest, has a big old shed and a small one bedroom dwelling, completely surrounded by kilometres of old growth crown land (which is way better than national park). 20 minutes drive from wynyard, about 50 mins from devonport. Two dams and a natural spring. Half on a hill with great views. Approval has just been given for a large 4 bedroom house. On a dead end road with only one person living past it. Set back off the road......etc etc..... 200k and it's yours

O Dear, yeah i think it ended up in Mattys car. . . Sorry jono, I blame Darren he was looking at it first out of your vehicle.
Yeah was a bit of a death march, did 20K that day 12 to marble arch & back then 8 up to the Bendethera caves & back from the valley. Was good tho, a few creek crossings on the caves walk, ended up with a few cheeky leeches at the end. Was good tho. . .

So whats your dream place Johno????
The only draw back I found with Kris's property is its about 10 thousand acres 2 small for my liking But 160 acres surrounded by NP would be awesome
