Try a Google image search. If I remember I'll take a shot of mine, if I can find it... You after the switch or the sensor.

I'm not sure what you're calling an 'engine coolant temp switch'. My 2001 4.5 auto has no temp sensors in the radiator itself.
If you're referring to a wiring loom on the RH side with a grey 2 pin plug, it's for a 2nd electric fan in some markets. There's a place to plug the relay in just behind your battery.
Perhaps you could put up a pic of what you think should be connected?

I have one of those plugs taped up behind the A/C receiver/dryer but not the one you have clipped onto the fan shroud.
I took pics and can post tomorrow if you want to see..

Here's a pic of the plug on mine that is taped to the loom behind the A/C drier.
I think it's pretty clear that it has never been in use.

Pic showing nothing clipped to the fan shroud.
As mentioned, I have no sensors in the radiator itself and it has never been replaced.
Mine is a 2001 TI so it's auto trans.

I think those plugs are for the AC system pressure switches?

The plugs for the coolant temp are both on the head near No1 cylinder - the two wire one is for the ECU, the single wire one is for the instrument panel gauge.
