I think they want You to use introduction forum to tell us abit about your Patrol and You!
I don't think a better steering damper will fix wheel shimmying, my opinion.
Have you done much swivel hub bearing and the preload on them?

Yes. About 2 years ago I chagned hubs bushes etc. I was preparing for Cape York or SImpson trip that didn't happen! I did the hubs (new hubs). But I have not done more than 5000KM yet.

Had mine in at tyre service the other day and is still shaking, they want me to try a set standard wheels some else that doesn't shake, but my mate who has patrols as work trucks, recon they tighten the reload by making thinner shims and setting up light the hubs cruisers, that my job this weekend coming, will keep you posted on how it goes

Hi guys,
I have done another wheel alignment and wheel balance at a different tyre service, in prove it a little, i have now re done reload on the swirl hub bearings and adjusted wheel bearing fairly tight! but has done little to fix it, now i would like to try a set standard patrol wheels on it to see if it is the rims causing the problem! but might have to wait till we get back from holidays
