Brunswick in a 99 Patrol
Hi guys.
I've got a 99 Patrol with a seized 2.8 in it.
I've been offered a 94 ST ute with a 6.5 (I think) Brunswick in it for $4,000. All the running gear is good, body is throw away.
Can I swap all the running gear and motor straight into the 99 ?
1: Straight swap
2: Yes, with a bit of work
3: Too hard basket
Cheers Max.

2 is your answer as it will be different engine mounts etc heaps of man hrs but a very good price for the donor car so will be worth it.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honour.

Yep
What Macca said. I think it would be fairly straight forward though as the donor would come with the engine mounts to be cut and welded. That's a $20k conversion anywhere. Bargain.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

Nah generally the adapter plate that Marks will sell is to adapt the engine to the gear box, you have that already. The engine mounts should be ale to be cut out of the donor car and fitted to the new car. The chassis rails should be the same so it should be pretty straight forward.

Could you not just take out the whole cross member from the donor and drop it in or would that be different as well. Sent from me using Forum Runner

I got a nice surprise yesterday. Hooked up the trailer and did a 600 K trip to pick up the donor car. Its in pretty good shape, nothing like what I expected.
It was sitting in a big farm shed covered in crap. The guy didn't think it would start because it had been sitting there for a very long time but he threw in a battery and it started straight up and sounded sweet. The ute was only ever used to tow a boom sprayer around the farm so it has very low k's on it.
He did say he thought it could do with an electric fuel pump if it was to be used for towing heavy things.
Will post some pics when the sun comes up.
Cheers Max.
