    Belt squeal

60k Y61 ZD30 CR … got a belt squeal which intensifies when air con is on. Once up and running squeal disappears, only to return at take off/acceleration. Could this be caused by the belt or belt tensioner?

    Thanks

My money is on the Idler Arm Pulley, only replace with the genuine part.

Belt squeak and bearing squeak are pretty distinctive (rubber squeak vs metal squeak). Rubber/belt squeak could mean belts too loose not properly gripping to the pulleys. Metal/bearing squeak means bearings too dry of grease; a bush repair would be to take off the pulley/idler, lift the bearing dust cover and put some grease; proper repair would be replace the bearing.

Idler arm pulley for sure. ZD30 CRD's are notorious for blowing them up the moment a bit of grit gets in the bearing.
    I went through 2 of them in the 3 years I used to own a 2009 3L.
